2 ringnecks in the same cage

We curretly have a ringneck parrot in a cage by himself the bird is 5 months old and not sure of the gender the cage is about 3 foot by 5 foot by 7 we are now looking at getting another ringneck which is also 2 months and not sure of the gender would it be possible to keep them in the same cage

Putting 2 birds in the same cage

There are two issues here, so I am thankful you wrote and asked this question.

1) You don't know that the two birds will get along, so keep them in separate cages until you see that they want to live together. You can read our "should I get another green cheek conure" story on our Parrot Training page for more information on this.

2) You need to have both birds sexed before putting them together. If they are male and female, then you risk breeding them. If the birds breed then you have to be prepared to hand feed babies 24/7 if the parents don't feed them, try to kill them etc. You also have to be prepared for avian vet bills due to needing to take all the birds for health checks before selling them.
