Is there anything I can do to help him though this??

I find it odd that he would all of a sudden start this kind of behavior even during Springtime especially if he has not done so before.

Sometimes, sudden changes in behavior signal a hidden illness, so if it's been more than a year since his last exam by avian vet, then take him in to rule out physical causes for this behavior.

If he is found to be clean of all infections or other physical problems then he will get over this. Be sure and have some general blood work done to find levels of kidney, liver, thyroid and parathyroid functions as one of these could be out of kilter. Also, be sure to keep him off your shoulder until he settles down. Displaced aggression means he will bite the one closest to him if he can't bit the one he wants to bite, and on the shoulder is a bad place for him to be if he decides to do this. It's kind of like the old "if you can't be with the one you love, then love the one you're with" only in this case, it means attack and bite, and shoulder riding gives him access to your face, ears and eyes.

Thanks for writing and keep in touch!
