28 year old cockatiel

Hi, I have a 28 year old cockatiel who started to sqawk quite frequently and the feather at the end of her wings are getting scraggly looking. I noticed this morning that she was laying on the bottom of her cage. She was able to get back on the perch. Do you think we should see a vet or could this be the beginning of the end. I want to keep her comfortable.

Because Dr B can not tell what might be wrong with your bird over the Internet, and he can't prescribe anything over the Internet, you need to Find an Avian Vet to examine your bird in person.

Yes, something is wrong for your bird to be acting like this, to answer your question. It could be "the beginning of the end" or it could be your bird just needs a prescription and will be fine.
