3 week old baby canary injured

my baby canary that i have been hand feeding was not far from leaving the nest. i put him into the avary to see if the mother or father would look after him again, the father started to feed it again which was great so i left him in the avary for the night. the next morning i found the baby canary on the ground half dead.

i also have rabbits in the avary with babies and the rabbits had pulled most of its feathers out and savaged one of its wings. i did my best to clean the canary up and i really thought it would die. the little fighter has survived and feeding well. i have been putting a dialuted spray on its wing for the past 4 days of water and betadine to stop any infection. it seems to be doing well but am i doing the right thing. will it ever regrow its feathers and fly.
please help

Canary injured by rabbits
by: The Avian Vet

The most likely problem was hat he did not eat or eat enough on his own and was not being fed by the parents. He may have also been dehydrated.

You must not keep rabbits and birds in the same cage. Rabbits carry bacteria that are deadly to birds.

Injured bird
by: Tracie

Dr B will eventually answer this, but what your bird needs is an in person visit with an avian vet where you live. Please get this injured bird to an avian vet, it could easily die of infection and is probably in pain.

It is none of my business, but I strongly suggest that you do NOT have other animals in your aviary that can injure your birds.
