30 Year old Cockatiel suffering

My Cockatiel is over 30 years old and is now showing his age.The last 6 months he holds his left claw of the perch and is shaking a little. Is he in pain? What can I do to help him? I don't want him to suffer any more. Please advise.
Thank you,

The best advice for you is to make an appointment with an Avian Vet and take your bird in for some bloodwork and an overall checkup to see what kind of condition his organs are in at this time. 30 is old for a small Cockatiel, and don't count him out just yet. Do take him into an Avian vet, let them do the testing that needs to be done, and they will then advise you on how to proceed. If he needs medications of some sort, and they say he is not in pain, go ahead and do as they recommend.

None of us like the idea of letting our pets go whether they be birds, dogs or cats. With dogs, we just don't get much choice, and their little lives are so short. With our birds, we have more options and time, so follow your Avian Vet's advice. You want him to be comfortable, and may you and your family be richly blessed for taking such good care of him to this point.

Make any decisions for HIS HIGHEST AND BEST GOOD, and you will always make the right one at the right time.

God Bless All of You,
