30+ year old umbrella cockatoo losing balance

My 30+ yr.old umbrella cocakatoo is having trouble keeping his balance... sitting on the bottom of his cage and is holding his wings open. He seems to be eating ok- eats pelleted food, but I just gave him a food stick, and he's eating that. It's sunday, and I can't get ahold of an avain vet. Any suggestions???

Waiting...

I got him to a vet on Monday who works with birds (but not board certified- no one local is). He took blood, and I'm STILL waiting for results to come back...VERY frustrating!! Luckily, Max (my cockatoo) is hanging in there- staying on the bottom of his cage, but doesn't seem to be getting worse.

Cockatoo losing balance

You need to Find an Avian Vet right away for your bird, if you have not already taken the bird in. As stated on the website, Dr B does not always answer questions right away and he can not help sick birds without an examination.
