Echo's cloaca

Echo's cloaca

I have a 4 month old Indian ring neck (hatch date Feb. 1 2010) I got him 04/26/2010 I have had him for about six week now. and this morning I noticed that the rear part of his vent is red and swollen. the front area of the vent looks fine. just the area closest to his tail is inflamed. He is not sitting low on his perch nor is he fluffed up. He has not been prening the area eather. He is on a diet of Zopreem avian entrees with 15 beans mix, brown rice, pasta, mixed veggies, and fresh fruit. Yesterday he did take a fall off his tree stand, and the person I got him from did chop his wings rather short so he did land rather hard. He is still playing but not as vigorously as yesterday before he fell. He is still eating. He ate his scrabbled eggs with beans brown rice veggies and pasta this morning. And did eat his safflower seeds when training today. Could he have injured his cloaca in the fall?
I do not have an avian vet near me. about 1 1/2 to 2 hours away. can you please help.

Oh and I for got to mention. Acording to the Avian Vet he displaced the second to last vertabe and tore the muscales in that area when he landed. So he is on cage rest (only out when we are holding him)untill his wings grow back out. As we do not want him to hurt himself any further.

thank you but I did not wait for your responce. I took my little baby to a vet listed on your site that is close by. He is going to be fine. He is now on antibiotics and is doing well. thank you anyway.
