Take her to avian vet right away!
by: Anonymous

Yes this looks like a tumor. I work at a vets office and have seen this before in cockatiels. It will need to be removed before it abstructs her everyday normal living, or worse yet ruptures on its own. You will have such a high risk of infection it could very well kill your bird. Bring your bird to a vet who is specialized in avian medicine ASAP to get this huge problem off your hands! Goodluck to you and your birdy!

Cockatiel with draining bump at wing joint
by: Tracie

The only way to tell if this is something to be drained or removed is for you to take your bird to an avian vet for an exam. Dr B can't tell without examining your bird and running tests.

Either way, you need to Find an Avian Vet right away because your bird is probably in pain.

Birds bleed out quickly and because their bones are hollow and easily broken, you need to make sure you find an avian vet and not take the bird to a dog/cat vet that is not properly trained in caring for birds.
