A lorikeet egg sized lump near my Scaly Breasted Lorikeet's vent

Hello, about a week or 2 ago, I noticed a lump near my Scaly Breasted Lorikeet's vent. It is about the size of an egg (lorikeet size) but this morning I noticed her straining to pass droppings. She produces runny droppings normally as I feed her wet-mix. It took her about 2 attemps to pass the droppings. Also I am not sure of her age, but I am sure she is an old bird, probably about 10 years. She has had many owners (due to the mess she makes and lots of attetion)so I don't want to give her up. She has also had an ingrown feather/cist, toenails curling over (we have to clip them daily or else she has difficulty moving about her enclosure), scales on her feet flapping/sticking up and now this. She has also been very broody (she doesn't have a mate because she injures them) and wanting to mate then lay eggs. Then wanting to mate again then lay eggs. She is also a hand reared bird and is VERY tame to only the ones she has bonded with. I have also noticed she has not been laying eggs for a little while. I really want to take her to the vet, but I don't think my parents will allow me...Please help!!!

Lorikeet possibly egg bound

I am so sorry, but your bird needs to see an avian vet, there isn't anything you can do. Most avian vets take payments, maybe you can call around and see about that?

Please use this Find an Avian Vet link to find an avian vet for your bird so it can be examined to determine what is wrong and what the potential treatment might be.
