my parrot is a boy and laid a egg should i be on the way of having baby parrots? the weird thing is that he is a boy parrot.

Editor's note: Males do not lay eggs, and unfertile eggs do not hatch. Please post your questions as new questions, not as an answer to another question.

You have to have a DNA test done on a drop of blood taken by an Avian Vet who will send it off to a lab for analysis.

You can also wait until your bird is mature and watch how it acts. Males will act like males and females sometimes will lay eggs or make nests to let you know they are females.

Do some reading about parrots to see what some of the differences in behaviors are for the male and female. Otherwise, relax and be happy if you have a happy healthy bird of either sex.

Thanks for writing,

Your question is simple enough but everything else you have added to the question is very confusing. None of it makes any sense.

I am only guessing you have 'sort of' said your parrot has laid an egg? If that is the case then it is obvious you will have a female since males do not lay eggs!

You haven't mentioned what type of parrot you have. Please google your species of parrots & get all the care information you can on her, so you can care for your bird properly!
