aborted egg?

Just Looking

Just Looking

I have an African Grey about 3 years old. I have always, and was told where I purchased him as a chick, thought he was a he. This moning he/she had a bloody dropping with whiteish foamy looking stuff. No bloody dropings after that so far.

Could Koko be a hen and have miscarried an egg or the begining of one?

Or should I take the bird to a vet?

Take Bird to Vet!
by: Linda

I agree with Tracie, this could be a life-threatening infection. Anytime you see anything like blood coming out of your bird from anywhere, it is time for a trip to the vet.

Your bird is a beauty, so take him/her to vet, and vet can do some tests to see what could be wrong. I've bred birds before, and I've never seen anything like what you are describing, though that does not mean it could not happen!

Let us all know what vet says as we are all bird lovers or we would not be out here.

take him to the vet

I was told that my grey wouldn't reach sexual maturity until 5 to 7 years so it would be to early for her to lay an egg anyway.
