Adult conure thinking my fingers are going to feed her? Change of food and what's the best option for captive Conure's?

Hello, I have a green cheek conure and was told that she is approximately 2-3 years old... when I am preening her with my index finger and thumb near her beak she begins to bob her head up and down... is this a normal behavior? Could she possibly be thinking that she is being fed like when she was a baby? I've scheduled a vet check with her this Sunday to get her beak and nails trimmed. The person that I got her off of gave me a seed diet, I am aware that this isn't the best diet for Conure's in captivity so was wondering what's the best option to wean her off of a seed diet? I've been given a lot of info on a pellet diet and a all fruit and veggie diet with the occasional seeds thrown in... all these questions will be asked by BonBon's avian vet but I just want to know some other options especially the food choices! Thanks for your time!

Head bobbing and pellet diet
by: Tracie

It is possible the bird is stimulated to bob like it did when it was little, yes. Also, so true about the pellet diet being the best diet. We have many helpful articles about feeding and training on our training page at http://www.parrot-and-conure-world.com/parrot-training.html
