Hey my african grey died on the 27th of december and I was just wondering if you would have an idea what caused this before he died I heard him screaming and he was face down on his grate then after a while he moved and then he was holding his wing down really weirdly, and he was sleepy unsual for him so I rang the vet who said as he was semi tame keep an eye on him so I did then left him 2 rest and he was later found dead as I did not hear him fall do u have any ideas of possible cause thanks gemma

Oh I am so sorry for your loss. I suspect you did not call an avian vet? I can't think of any avian vet that would suggest you leave a bird on the bottom of the cage to die.

There is no way for Dr B or anyone to tell you why your bird died without an necropsy. You will need to Find an Avian Vet to do a necropsy to find out what caused it's death.

It may have been ill, it may have been from nutritional deficiencies, chewed or breathed something toxic or any number of things.
