African Grey coughing

My African Grey of 1 week is coughing once in a while. Could this be mimick? It sounds like human cough.

Birds don't cough.

Birds don't cough. They only sneeze. Chances are your friend is imitating something it years a lot this time of year. Or if no ones been coughing, your friend is imitating something that sounds like coughing. My friend Georgie develops my wife and my cough everytime we get sick. Of course being an African gray, it's EXACTLY our cough.

If there is someone in your home that coughs all the time, and the bird sounds exactly like that, then it is trying to make that sound. If there is not someone with a cough in your home or visits often, then the bird might be sick.

Please Find an Avian Vet for your bird if it might be sick.
