Please tell me why my african won't get off my finger when I want to put him in the cage. She will bite me. She has bonded with my husband but not me...even if he is not home she will not get off my finger to the perch without biting me. Help!

Did you ever find a solution to the biting? Is he still doing it?

Suddenly Biting
by: Judy in Ohio

I am having the same problem with my orange wing Amazon. He has started biting me in the past week,he has never done that.At first it was just when I put him back in his cage, now he is doing it in the mornings when I'm putting food in his dish.I don't react when he does it but it is getting quite serious. He is bringing blood and bruising me and I'm afraid before long I'm going to need stitches!!He has always been quite cooperative.Help!!

Biting grey
by: Lori/Texas

I don't really have an answer to your question but my 10yr old grey just started doing the same thing and he won't stay on top of his cage when I open the cage door. He has always stayed on top of his cage until I came to get him. He has never stepped up on my finger, only my wrist. I have no feeling from my wrist down the side to the tip of my thumb due to nerve damage but the doctor assures me it will come back. Now I wrap a towel around my wrist to prevent more nerve damage and I'm hoping that since I don't react to the bite he will stop. I'll be watching to see if anyone has comments as to why he is doing this.
