african grey with swollen left nostril

why is my congo african grey have a swollen left nostril. I have had him for 5 years. Healthy bird, good appetite very talkative. I see no other signs of illness.

The only way to know exactly why and how to fix it, is to take your bird to be seen in person by an avian vet. Dr B can not tell what is wrong over the Internet and he can not write a prescription if there is an infection.

It could be something is stuck in the nare or there could be a tumor or infection in there.

I suggest encouraging your bird to bathe, in case there is something that just needs to come out. If there is an infection, however, then your bird can end up with damage if it does not get addressed by an avian vet.
