age bird quits learning to talk

Birds can learn new words and sounds at any age, and the Doubles are some of the best talkers and singers outside of the African Greys.

Please take your new bird to an Avian Vet in your driving area as all new birds need a checkup the first few days because most develop an infection from either being in nasty pet stores or from their immune systems being compromised from stress.

Take him only to an avian vet as dog and cat vets are not licensed or trained in the care and treatment of birds. Since he's been neglected, it is likely he has one or more physical issues that need to be dealt with, so please do not wait on making an appointment. Avian Vets are part of having birds because all birds get sick or injured some time or the other just like people, dogs, cats and other animals.
