We have an olive scaly breasted lorikeet who is only about 14 weeks old, we recently purchased a second one of the same who is only 9 weeks old. Since merging the birds together the older bird Ollie is constantly grooming and preening the new bird paying particular notice to the nasal cavities at the top of the beak.
Ollie is relentless at this to the point where the little bird tries to hide from him, when he hides Ollie will simply push him off of the perch and throw a temper tantrum. Ollie has also nipped at the little one a few times although they live happily together and sleep together in the happy hut.
Should I be worried about this behaviour or is it something that will settle once the birds get to know each other???
