Alexandrian male 5 years and female 6 months

I have a 5 year old tame male alexandrian and I was thinking of adding a young female in an aviary 2.5m x 6m, is the aviary big enough just in case they do not pair up? Thank you

Adding a female to a male alexandrine parrot cage

My first question, in my mind, when I read your question was, "Is this person a breeder already?" Then I wondered, "Why does this person want to put another bird with his tame bird, do they not want a tame bird anymore?"

There is never a guarantee birds will get along, so no matter how big the aviary, the birds can fight and kill one another if they want the other bird gone. So you will want to keep them in separate cages, allow them out to play in a neutral area, and see how they get along.

If you are not a breeder already, then please study up and volunteer helping another breeder so you can have some experience and knowledge before you start. It is expensive, time consuming and a LOT of work to breed birds properly. With all the vet bills etc., it will be a long time before you even break even.
