Hello we have been raising a baby Alexandrine from the egg after the parents killed the other baby. Tonight after feeding about an hour later it was laying face down with its wings outstreched almost like it was dead. We picked it up and its come to life but very lethargic is this normal?

Alexandrine baby health questions
by: Anonymous

Yesterday I posted about an alexandrine baby I recovered in very bad state. Today the baby looks fine, trying to interact and has regained some strength. But sometimes he is doing watery motions. Is that something to panic? Otherwise he is taking feed and is active (Touchwood).

BTW, I am feeding him with baby cerelac Three-Four Times a day with water in between these intervals.

Need suggestions....

Need urgent help tips
by: Anonymous

I recovered an Alexandrine baby from someone who kept it in a very bad and probably starving state. Luckily it not in a very bad state, thats what I guess, however is not hopping out for feed and crying to be fed as I have seen and looks lethargic and somewhat in a serious shock state and obviously is not in good health.

I am not sure of its age however the feathers are fully formed and looks blackish instead of bright green.

Someone please help!!!

Editor's note: Take the bird to an avian vet, or if you don't have an AVIAN vet, find a breeder that is knowledgeable and takes their birds to an avian vet.
