Alexandrine Parrot and Lorikeets?

Though they may become friends, do not put them in the same cage because the Alexandrine is too aggressive and the two birds eat different diets. You need to do your homework on how to feed a Lori before getting one. There are some foods here that Loris can eat, and I recommend an organic pellet as the basic diet along with the other dietary needs.

Your Alexandrine also needs to be eating organic pellets as basic diet and neither bird can have any people food as these are full of salt, sugar and fat all of which kill birds quickly like in the case of salt and sugar and slowly as in the case for fats.

There are some foods on this site that are organic and both the Lori and Alexandrine's dietary needs will be met by feeding pellets as the base food along with recommended fruit and veggies. Do some reading about the Lori because they are different from most other birds, and so you will need to know all about them before getting one. Do your homework before buying any kind of parrot to make sure you understand its needs.

Thanks for writing,
Linda
