All new birds have to be examined by an Avian Vet ONLY before coming home to any other birds because infections are very common with birds in pet shops and most of the ones from breeders and private individuals. The stress of being moved around can cause a bird in marginally good health to contract various infections.

Your bird needs to be examined right away by an Avian Vet in your driving area because the excessive blinking indicates something wrong with eyes. Whether it's an infection or some other problems will be determined by the Avian Vet when you take her in. Have a throat swab done to check for bacterial infections and basic bloodwork to check for viral infections as well as to see how organs are functioning. If she is found to have an infection, know they are highly contageous, and your other bird will need to be taken in for exam to diagnose him before he can be treated.

Use NO over the counter meds and this means those found at the pet shops too. Until you know for sure what is wrong, it cannot be treated.
