Shared cage
by: Anonymous

If you do get another bird, and want to cage them together, start them out in separate cages, near each other, but out of reach, if they seem friendly, for a few days at least, take them out together and watch them closely, if they still get along and do not act jealous of each other, or any of the family, you can carefully try to put them together in a new third cage, (it's neutral territory.) Give them time to get used to sharing space, and be ready to put them back in their own cages occasionally at first. But it may not actually take very long, Parrots tend to make snap decisions about who they like and don't like.

Putting birds in cage together
by: Tracie

Hello Sue,

You never can tell what birds will get along with each other. They can even be the same species and hate each other.

I am sorry, that is probably not the answer you were looking for, but it is the truth. I have one friend that could not find an Amazon that her Amazon could get along with. One day the Amazon made it over to the Cockatiel cage and they became best buddies and now live together.
