Don't lorakeets have a mostly liquid diet?

Editor's note: Yes, unless they eat lory pellets.

Your bird needs to be taken to an Avian Vet in your driving area right away as this is not normal and indicates there may be a blockage keeping her from pooping as she should.

The other issue is diet. Your bird needs to be eating an organic pelleted diet, and there are several found here. It takes a while to change from poor quality all seed diet to the pellets, and here is a link with information on how to go about it written by an Avian Vet:

Switching Birds to Pellets article

Make NO changes in diet until your bird has been examined by an Avian Vet, and then follow their instructions as to meds for getting her well. Here is another link to an article about feeding the Lori's which may be helpful for you:

Budgie, Lory & Eclectus diets

Thanks for writing and let us know what the avian vet has to say as your information can help other people with similar problems.

You need to get your bird to an avian vet right away. She may have a tumor or blockage.
