Baby green parrot attacked by dog

My baby green parrot (about a month old and I'm not sure exactly what kind it is) just got attacked by my little dog (chihuahua size). I checked the parrot for injuries and found no blood anywhere. However, it was limping (dragging both legs) on the carpet and wouldn't eat and drink.

I was wondering if the nature of its limping was because it was in heavy shock, or is it because its legs are broken? Is there a way for me to check somehow?

Thank you

Bird attacked by dog

If your bird is still alive, please take it to an avian vet ASAP! Birds have hollow bones that are easily broken, you may not see blood for your bird to die.

If your child was attacked and unable to walk, you would take the child to the doctor, correct? Please, do this right away. If you don't have an avian vet, please go to our Find an Avian Vet page and pick a vet either from the ones listed or from doing a search at one of the links at the top of the page.

Dr B can not help you with this, your bird must be seen in person. And if your bird lives through this experience, please NEVER let your bird out when your dog is able to get into the same room as the bird.
