Baby head twitching

by Trisha

Hello, I have a baby Ringneck parrot, she was born in January and we received her when she is about 6 weeks old. We have been hand feeding her baby formula since we recieved her about a week ago. Since yesterday I have noticed that when she squeaks her head twitches. (I also have a Male Ringneck that is 3 years old. We had him since he was 6 weeks too) I know that this is not normal. Can you please explain this to me? Why is this happening?

This is something that needs to be examined by an avian veterinarian. You should take him to a specialist with hand feeding experience. Try this site to find a veterinarian – This can be caused by aspiration of baby formula as well as other causes.
