bald spots on my new finches

I have a clutch of four in the last few days we have noticed them scratching and pecking at there own necks and they now have bald spots. Is this normal and will the feathers grow back. Neither of the parents have these spots on them.

This is something that should be looked at by an avian veterinarian.

They may have contracted some kind of mite, so you need to take them to an Avian Vet to make sure this has not happened. Please do not use any over the counter meds on these babies and this includes and especially includes those found in pet stores because it will kill them.

They could be pecking at each other, but this is very unusual for babies to do this, so this is a matter for an Avian Vet.

Please do not delay taking all four into the Avian Vet because babies go down quickly from bacterial infections, parasites and other physical problems and by go down, I mean die.
