Balding bird

My 5 year old sun conure is going bald basically everywhere. We have brought him to the vet twice now and nothing has changed. He has been treated for mites and some sort or parasite and the vet says they don't know what else it could be. The vet isn't strictly a bird vet but she is the only one within an hour traveling distance. Could this baldness be caused from separation anxiety?

You need to try to Find an Avian Vet to take your bird to. Treating for mites and things that have not be diagnosed due to testing could have added to the problems your bird is having.

Please read our Feather Damaging Behavior article if your bird is pulling out its feathers, and if the feathers are coming out without the help of the bird then it is probably a disease.
