Yes, avian vets treat birds that are not trained. Breeder birds can sometimes be vicious with humans and they should be checked yearly to make sure they are healthy and will produce healthy chicks.

the thrown out egg,chick dead inside,but we have two healthy chicks and two eggs to go;fingers crossed they all survive.have photo of the chicks and eggs,will down load and post at a later date.thank you.

No, birds should not lose feathers around their eyes. But since you didn't post a picture, I don't know if you are just referring to the fact that feathers are not right against the eyes.
Basically, if this is a new condition, then take the bird to an avian vet right away. If after looking at other bird pictures you see that your bird looks just like them, then don't worry about it.
