my conyer has an area of baldness on top of head and then that area has hardened hair. what does it mean

It means your bird has to be examined by an Avian Vet in your driving area. There is something physically wrong here, and no one on the internet can help you. In fact, only a licensed and trained Avian Vet will be able to diagnose and treat this problem, so don't bother asking pet store employees or other people who are not avian vets.
