In feb,2011 I notices peaches ruffling its feathers when I would feed it in the am change water and clean cage floor. I say it because I up to now was not sure if peaches was a male or female. Its a long story I was talking to someone I explained the situation she said she is nesting contact a avian vet. or check online ok here I am.

It must had been woman's interwishing to name her peaches. Can you tell me what to do? I have to trick her outside her cage each day to feed her and change water. She get very aggressive with me, I need help. Thanks in advance nesting problem.

I don't know that it is necessarily nesting behavior, it sounds like aggressive behavior to me, since it happens when you are messing with the cage.

Your bird needs to be seen by an avian vet once a year for check ups, but not necessarily just because it has nesting behavior. If your bird is on a healthy pellet diet, like Harrison's you won't have to worry about egg binding.

Please read some of the parrot training articles on our Parrot Training page. You might get some ideas on how to calm your bird and have a better relationship.

Thanks for trying to help your bird.
