Best way to get a parrot home

by Karen
(Lanzarote)

What is best for a African grey parrot a 50 minute flight in the aeroplane on my knee in a carrying cage or an overnight stay on a boat with a transport person.
Thanks

Also, they do have special pet flights. This plane has vets on board, temp controlled. ETC. they are very nice. There are so many vets per number of animals. THey bring the pets out to walk them exercise them... etc. They will interact and play with them. Unless special intructions are given.

If you're not able to take your bird as a carry on bc of carrier size... this is also something to consider. I personally dont want my pets under the seats... the person behind you always takes up that room with thier feet, kicking the cages. It's why I prefer the pet flights.

Happy trails and safe trips!

Which ever way you decide you should keep the bird with you as it will be unsteady on a strange journey. With you there in sight & sound it will feel safe & secure.

Taking parrot by plane or boat

I don't know, but the Airlines will require you to keep the bird in a carrier that fits under the seat and they claim you can NOT bring them out during the flight. I don't know that an AG will fit in a carrier that fits under a plane seat.

Please check with the airlines for their rules and regulations about all this.
