bird gender confused.com !!

i have a budgie , his beak is blue but sometimes when i let him out of his cage he acts as though he's a girl , i had him about 2-3 months ago. some people are saying you cant tell untill their like a year old ???? plz help

Young females have a bluish beak until they are mature where it starts to turn white and then ivory to brown when they are ready to breed.

The young male has a purple looking beak until they are mature and then it turns to blue. If you have a young bird who has a blue beak, then it is probably a female. Give it about a year or so before deciding which you have. Female will have ivory to brown at maturity and male will have a nice blue beak at that time.
