Amazons typically cannot be "sexed" by looking at them.

A DNA test will have to be done in order to determine the sex of the bird.

My local bird shop where I bought my Grey, took a DNA sample before we left the store. Then we got a letter in the post 2 wks later stating we had a baby girl.

A DNA test runs about $25. To do the test, they clip the bird's nail until it bleeds slightly, then rub the bleeding nail on a card, which they send into the lab for testing. They then apply styptic powder to the bleeding nail to stop the bleeding.

An avian vet can do this test as well. But it may cost more. They may opt to "scope" the bird which will cost much more. Nail clipping is much less traumatic on the bird. I would suggest that method.

Good luck!
