Bird gone quiet

My maxamilias pionus is chatty and the most loving bird, we have his wings trimmed to prevent him from flying off. He had this done as a young bird and then again 12 months later which is just last week, however since we bought him home he has been quiet and not playing much? is there a reason for this as i am very worried about him.

Bird suddenly quiet
by: Tracie

I am not clear on what you posted. It sounds like you trim the wings, but he has flown off twice, and last week was one of the times?

Regardless, a bird suddenly gone quiet is usually a bird showing illness that has been there for a while and is just now showing it. Please Find an Avian Vet for your bird to be seen in person and examined right away.

Please report back what the avian vet finds. It helps others that are wavering to take their birds to the vet when their birds are showing illness. Do NOT take the bird to a dog/cat vet because they often accidentally kill birds due to lack of small bird experience and training.
