bird is hoarse

my 5 year old sun conure is being real quite and squeaky today and it looks like his nasal passage are reddish... other then that he seems fine, he has never had a cold before and has been inside and not exposed to anything unusual. Yesterday he was on my shoulder and I was sitting in front of a fan for a short time, could he have gotten sick from that??.. I feel horrible.
