Bird keeps opening scab on wing and it is raw.

Hello, I just rescued a lovebird who was in a terrible breeding facility. It was horrible that people breed birds in such conditions. Not only that that the breeder was terribly rude after I bought birds from him.
But that is another story..

The birds wing has a dark scab and next to it is skin where feathers are starting to grow back as well as raw skin. This means the bird is biting at itself. Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I should treat the bird at home to promote healing and stop the bad habit?

I am a student and don't have much money to go to a vet but if the problem worsens I will do what I have to do to make sure the bird is healthy or I would be no better than the person I got the bird from.

Any suggestions that I can try?
I just got the bird onto the Tropican lifetime granules as well as tried to integrate fruits, veggies, and some seed.

I would appreciate any help that any of you are willing to offer. Thanks you.

Dont you think that bitter spray would burn? They would just put a tiny plastic collar on the bird if you took it to the vet.Just like the big floppy ones they put on dogs when they have surgery.Try and make one yourself, just make sure it is comfortable, not too heavy, and take it off when you will be gone or asleep for long periods.

Stop bird for chewing scab

You might see if you can find FOOEY Bitter Spray somewhere where you live.

It is safe for birds, but they don't like the taste and it keeps them from chewing things they shouldn't.
