bird still sick

First, did you take bird to an Avian(bird) Vet? If so, did they actually diagnose what kind of bacteria caused the infection? If you said no on either question, get your bird to an Avian Vet immediately and have them do a throat swab to correctly identify what type of bacterial infection bird has.Basic bloodwork is also required to check for viral infection and/or problems with organ function.

Too much medication is harmful to birds, so make sure he is taken immediately to Avian vet who will do the proper tests and prescribe the correct meds for it. Also, sick birds have to be kept warm which means keeping them covered on the top and sides of cage. If your cage is too large, get a smaller cage to put bird into until it is well. Sick birds cannot regulate their body temp, and need extra precautions taken so they can stay warm. Also make sure bird is in NO drafts or is sitting near any vents either floor or ceiling. You can put cage on a heating pad on low or medium heat, but make sure you are always around when it is being used as a safety precaution.

Let us know what Avian Vet has to say and please get this taken care of because your bird will stay sick and get worse until it has been properly treated.
