Bird temperments

There really is no "easy to train" parrot as all of them will mistrust you on site until you earn their trust, unless they are hand fed and you visit them before you bring them home.

Before a new bird can be tamed or trained, it must be examined by an Avian Vet to see if it is healthy enough for the very stressful taming and training routine. Most all birds coming from pet stores are sick with some kind of infection, and the ones coming from most breeders are too. Being moved from a home they feel safe in to either a pet store or to a new caretaker is very stressful for birds, and they get sick, so avian vet visit is a must in the first few days you have the bird.

You are looking for something that does not exist, which makes me want to encourage you to study information on parrot behavior in general. Parrots are exotic wild animals who are also prey animals in the wild. Many are terrified of their new caretakers, and trust takes a while and will not just happen without you being a major part of the process. Birds need firm yet gentle handling all the time to help with this process.

Find an Avian Vet before even considering getting a parrot because they do get sick or injured and always need a new bird checkup at the beginning.

Thanks for writing,
Linda
