Bloody Droppings
by: Linda

Yes, as Tracie said, anytime you see blood coming from your bird, you need to take your bird to a qualified Avian vet. If you see blood in the droppings, it is very important to get bird to doctor as quickly as is possible. Birds don't have a whole lot of blood to lose, so please make an appointment and get your bird in as soon as is possible.

In future, if you see blood in a bird's stool or coming from the eyes or mouth or nose or ears, these are signs of a serious problem. Don't delay a trip to vet, as this is a serious problem.

Bleeding bird needs a vet
by: Tracie

You need to take your bird to an avian vet ASAP. If this is a female, it may be egg bound. No matter what it is, only an Avian vet can determine the cause and prescribe a treatment.

Please let us know what you find out from your vet and how your bird is doing.
