Birds in separate cages, in the same room

I wrote to you about a year ago. At that time we brought a Cockatoo into the house, we already had a Amazon and you advised us not to let the two birds stay in the same cage due to the fact that the Too might harm the littler bird. We have been keeping the two birds apart in separate rooms of the house.
We have moved to a smaller house. What is your opinion about having both birds in the same room of the house, in separate cages ?
Do I need to cover one side of the cages so they cant see each other

Thanks
Bob D

Birds kept in the same room

They could have always been kept in the same room, just not the same cage. You don't need to cover either of them, they may even enjoy each other's company. You just don't want them to be outside their cages at the same time unless you are there to separate them if they fight and are willing to get bit trying to separate them.
