birds together?
by: Linda

No, this is not a good idea. Both birds need their own cages because both are more aggressive birds and will fight if forced into a cage together. They CAN become friends by putting cages in view of each other, but always be right there with them when they are out of cages together to prevent serious injuries if they decide they don't like each other. It takes time for any birds to get to know one another and even then there is no guarantee they will become buddies. Parrots have distinct likes and dislikes about other birds as they do with humans. No bird will like all people, and no bird will like all other birds.

Birds from different countries will normally get along, but not be enthusiastic about it. It does not matter that both were born here in the states. Their countries of origin are genetically imprinted within each bird. The Macaw and Grey come from entirely different countries of origin and will probably never be best buddies though they will enjoy having each other for company.

Thanks for writing,

Putting a macaw and African grey together
by: Tracie

No, you can not just put a macaw and and African grey together. In fact, you can't just put any two birds together, they may not like each other and may harm each other.
