Bitting conure

I have a 9 month old Yellow Sided Conure... he knows step up but most of the time he bites, most times its nipping and not so bad but if you dont move your hand away he grabs on even if hes already on your hand. Is there anything i can put on my hand that he wont like if he bites BUT is safe also? I heard of tabasco sauce but thats not good for him so i dont wanna use that. Nothing else is working :(

Conure biting

It would be best for you to train your bird that it is not acceptable behavior. I have an article on our Parrot Training page about a biting green cheek conure that would be good for you to read.

In our article, the bird would bite me and not my husband, but honestly the training would work if you just follow what my husband did as if you are the "alpha" bird in the home.
