Black skin on Budgie

by Cheryl
(Toledo, Ohio, USA)

We have taken her to a vet and they say everything is fine. She I an Albino with red eyes and black skin. Was checked for blood, crop wash, and everything post purchase. she doesn't act sick. Is this a mutation of some kind?

Looks good to me

My white budgie has the same skin color. I doubt there's anything wrong with it.

Thank you

Thank you for answering back. I have taken her to a different Vet then when I first took her. We found out that she was given dye in her food(like for canary's). But she has returned to her normal lack of color. Again thank you.

She could be a creamino or lutino.

She is black her entire body. She has been to vet twice. But, she has red eyes, white feathers. What mutation could she be? Please and Thank you... :)

Bird with black skin
by: The Avian Vet

They can have pigmented skin which would make him not an albino. If the skin is black over the entire body, then there is no concern, But if it is in one spot, then have it examined by an avian veterinarian.
