Budgie molting
by: Tracie

Your budgie is molting and these are the new feathers coming in. If your bird is hand tame, it may or may not like you to touch him at this time.

Some birds enjoy their people to gently pinch the softer new feather shafts to release the new feathers and some just want to be left alone and are grumpy.

No matter what, encouraging your bird to bathe will help to soften the sheaths and your bird will be more comfortable.
