blood on my parakeet's neck and back of head.

by Jessica
(Livonia, Michigan.)

hello,

i just got my parakeet out, and i noticed two small spots on the back of his head and neck. i looked in his cage and at the bottom there are three spots of blood, each at least the size of a quarter. They are dry, and i'm not sure how long have have been there, i have not been home for a few days and my mom was giving him food and water. He is sneezing a bit, but other than that he seems fine. Also, he is molting, so maybe that has something to do with it?.

thanks a lot!

BLOOD IS ALWAYS SOMETHING T BE CONCERNED ABOUT WITH BIRDS! Take your bird into an avian veterinarian immediately. Take the paper in the bottom of the cage, too, so they can see what you see.
