I am referring to the actual question mentioning pooping bright red poop. Since the person did not mention egg binding, laying or any other such issues then I did not presume that was the problem.

Perhaps if the original poster can explain in more detail if it is in fact red poop or egg laying problems. You would know if it were an egg laying problem.

I'm going against the grain here, seriously, blood in poop is NEVER bright red, blood makes the poop BLACK.

What has your bird eaten to cause bright red poop?

Editor's note: Blood coming from a bleeding vent, like egg binding, is red because it is bleeding.

This is an EMERGENCY! Any signs of blood in faeces, whether in humans or animals is serious.

This is even more so in bird. They only have a mall amount of blood and the bird can bleed to death very quickly.

Get the bird to an avian vet ASAP.

I hope all goes well.

Yes, it is serious if your bird has not eaten something bright red. Please use this Find an Avian Vet link to find an avian vet for your bird so it can be examined to determine what is wrong and what the potential treatment might be.
