Blue and Gold Macaw sometimes regurgitates it's food..

Once in a while my Blue and Gold Macaw will regurgitate it's food back up. When I mentioned this to the women who clips his wings and nails she told me it's a sign that it loves me and is offering food to me.

Also, on a couple occasions I was holding it and it was showing me love. I was petting it and it was giving me kisses. Then, when my boyfriend walked over it suddenly bit me and wouldn't let go. The women at the vet said this is also a sign of love. She said that in the wild a bird will bite it's mate when danger is near so that it will fly away. Is this all true? I'm just curious.
