We have articles you can read on our Parrot Training page about helping biting and screaming parrots. I mention the screaming article, because the same kind of training still applies.

There is also an expert in the bird training field that offers free bird training help. If you don't like his trial information, then you can cancel.

Try wrapping a towel around your hand to get him to step up or you can use a perch and when he does give him a treat. Chet Womack has some great training videos available on line.

When I got my Quaker, Jade, I was told by her owners at the time she was nasty and mean, bit and would take chunks of flesh out of me, and was very cage territorial. 4 months down the road, she is very tame and lovey, I can stick my head in her cage to clean and all I get is kisses, and she just started to step up. I just kept working and working with her, and finally last week she held her foot out to step up.
I guess my point is behaviors can change and don't give up, just when I thought it would never happen, it did. Be persistent and consistent and anything can happen.
