Blue front amazon baby bird feeding

Your bird is sick and will likely die without being diagnosed and treated by an Avian Vet immediately. Do not give him any water as this is taken care of with the baby parrot formula. Your bird should be eating 60cc's 3-4 times a day without any problem at all. The fact that he is sick means he is slowly dying and will be dead without getting proper diagnosis and meds from an Avian Vet ONLY.

Amazons do not even begin the weaning process until they are 3-4 months old, and he needs to be fed using a syringe. If breeder fed using the syringe, then he will not want to take the spoon which also causes lots of gas in the crop. Less food, more gas is what the spoon does. Have Avian vet show you how to feed with the syringe if breeder is not willing to do so. Your bird is in a lot of trouble right now, so do what you need to since you thought you could handle this. Not as easy as it sounds for sure, and more babies are lost because of people who know nothing about handfeeding than almost anything else.

Anyway, right now you are in danger of losing your bird to disease and incorrect feeding methods, so run, don't walk to nearest Avian Vet.

Too young for self feed/ Weaning
by: Asif Arain

Hi your blue is too young for parrot mix seeds
First of all he don't know any thing about the world
What he just know is you. You are his mom you're his
Food you're everything for him. If he throws the formula
Or has less eaten may be there is an infection growth in his
Crop kindly take him to Avian Vet.
About eating him self he is likely too far to get to the
Age of what we call weaning age. Always give him weaning food like (fresh veggies leafy greens fresh fruit with out seeds
And some good pelleted diet like Harrison's and Roudybush etc. )
Your bird must be eating 70% pellets, 20% fresh fruit n veggies and 10% seeds use for treats. For any detailed info ask the Avian Vet about birds Diet.
